I also know how all the soldiers died now in the civil war. . Every few feet around you is exploding like mortars and bombs are going off everwhere constantly and it never stops! And claims to historical accuracy are just ridiculous. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 was that I like really authentic games and not many real soldiers had Henry's and Colt rifles but it is good to have them vs. You'll want to use this method of hanging back, too, since hiding behind objects for cover is hit or miss. Each level is book ended with a bit of historical fact to set up the battle and let you know the outcome, all done with the archetypal deep voice heard laying out details while you watch a series of maps, photographs and art slowly pan by.

It could have been a winner, Cauldron dropped the ball on this one. Standing around fiddling with your weapon and ammunition doesn't make for the most compelling of experiences. Your basicaly fighting alone, and if they don't die in battle, they just fall down and die. This game is a sit back and relax game that I beat in a day. Every other soldier has a repeating rifle! That means you can just sit back at a safe distance and fire when the targeting turns red for an easy kill every time. Activision has come a long way since Gods and Generals.

Who will reload the fastest? Many of these old rifles had only one shot but the reloading process itself. How weapon mechanics translate to a game is of the utmost importance to a first-person shooter of this nature. The only reason I gave it a 2 was because of the excellent weapons and maybe one decent level, that is to say if you don't mind the same repetition in every facet of the game. This game is total chaos! As long as you stay in the crouched position, you can easily snipe all you enemies as they stand right beside the downed soldier in which you just shot. Pretty smoke clouds the empty fields. This game had a nice idea.

These abilities take away any of the urgency reloading these guns should have on the battlefield and makes the melee combat feel like an afterthought. There are invisible walls everywhere that keep you headed down a very narrow path so that the very scripted events can happen. You'll end up killing the computer controlled guy. The detail I great, each of the soldiers hase their own face. Not a keeper in my opinion. We're not sticklers for facts or realistic gameplay when the end result is fun. Aside from which color enemy you're shooting at and archive the sound bytes that you hear from your fellow soldiers, there isn't any difference in the gameplay from either side of the battleline.

The game greatly reminded me of Call of Duty 2, which is not a bad thing. Also, for being one of Americas most bloody wars, there is absolutely not a drop in this game. Hiding behind cover and archive watching your health go down as you take damage from an unknown assailant is not fun. The quick save and load buttons make the entire experience much smoother. It crashes every once and a while. But the rest makes up for it. The rest makes up for that too.

We're fairly certain nobody in the Civil War could reload a front-loading musket in a few seconds while running at top speed down a trail. This makes the majority of the game a boring shooting gallery of sorts. You never find yourself as part of some grand infantry column of hundreds or thousands of soldiers or on some open-ended battlefield with bloody mayhem around every farmhouse or copse of trees. The down side of this game is that its not hard, just sort of to easy. In knowing their disrespect to the fans of their games, one of which i have always been, I no longer will purchase any of their software after this fiasco called History Channel Civil War: A Nation Divided. I hope people buy this game instead of looking at the fact that it was made by the History Channel and activision by the way, hence the Call of duty 2 likeness and walk away thinking this is a cheap waste of time.

Also when you try to crouch around boxes you still get shot. Every few feet around you is exploding like mortars and lifeaftertheboat.com bombs are going off everwhere constantly and it never stops! In the game your get shot too many times. The graphics were really good even on my geforce 6600. The guns are very realistic and fun to use. My computer far exceeds the recommended specifications and it still crashes. This game had a nice idea.

If you get close enough, they'll charge and try a melee attack. My computer far exceeds the recommended specifications and it still crashes. There is always fighting to do. As it stands, there is little present in the game to give players the feel of being in a real Civil War battle. Heck, mankind's entire history has been put up for grabs in Sid Meier's popular Civilization series. You see, every gun you have is perfectly accurate and can drop the enemy in one or two shots.
